About Baptisms
When you make a commitment of your life to Jesus Christ, you become a new creation. It's a heart deal. When you are baptized, it is a picture of your old life being gone and your new life beginning! We want to celebrate that with you. For more information about baptism or to submit your story for an upcoming baptism, email us.

The next Baptism Celebration will be the weekend of October 21 & 22 at all campuses. If you have questions about baptisms, please email the baptism team!

Why Be Baptized?

To follow the example set by Jesus.
"At that time Jesus came from Nazareth and was baptized by John in the river." Mark 1:9

Because Jesus instructs us.
"Jesus said, 'Go then, to all people everywhere and make them my disciples, baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and then teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.'" Matthew 28:19-20

It demonstrates that you are a believer.
"…many of the people who heard Him believed and were baptized." Acts 18:8

Who Should Be Baptized?

Every person who has believed in Christ should be baptized. "Those who believed and accepted His message were baptized…" Acts 2:41

A believer is someone who has realized that their sin separated them from God and has concluded that Jesus Christ's death on the cross for their sins is the only thing that can bridge the gap between them and God. A believer is someone who has come to trust Christ alone for their salvation. If you have come to this point in your spiritual journey, then you are ready to be baptized.

When Should I Be Baptized?

After you become a Christ-follower. "Those who believed…were baptized…that day!" Acts 2:41

As soon as you have decided to receive Christ into your life, you can be baptized. If you wait until you are "perfect," then you'll never feel "good enough!"

What is the Meaning of Baptism?
Baptism doesn't make you a believer. It shows that you already believe. Baptism does not "save" you; only your faith in Christ does that.

Baptism illustrates Christ's death, burial and resurrection.
"For when you were baptized, you were buried with Christ and in baptism you were also raised with Christ." Colossians 2:12

Baptism illustrates your new life as a Christian.
"When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. The old life has passed away and a new life has begun." 2 Corinthians 5:17
