Cove Kids Questions

Frequently Asked Questions about Cove Kids

How old does my child have to be to start attending the nursery?
Our recommendation is that your child is at least six weeks old prior to bringing him or her to the Cove Kids Nursery.

How will you contact me if my child needs me?
If your child becomes inconsolable or unwell, we will contact you via a visual prompt on the side screens in the main auditorium. The screens are visible from anywhere in the main auditorium. If your child’s security code appears on the side screens, please return to the room where you dropped him or her off. If you would like to see the remaining portion of the worship service, there are several live video feeds of the service located in the atrium.

Will my child have the same teacher each week?
Yes, to the best of our abilities. As long as your child remains in the same developmental stage, and if you attend the same service each weekend, we will do our best to make sure your child attends the same room with the same teacher.

Is there a private area available for nursing mothers?
Yes. Inside both of our nursery rooms, you will find a quiet area designed specifically for nursing mothers. There are rocking chairs and a changing table available. If you have any other needs, please feel free to ask one of the Cove Kids Nursery volunteers or staff.

How does Cove Kids keep parents involved in their child’s experience at church?
Each week when you pick up your child, your child’s teacher will hand you a parent flyer. This flyer has a summary of what your child learned during the worship service, as well as some ideas for how to incorporate that week’s lesson into your child’s daily life. We believe the best way for parents to be involved in what their child is learning is to become a part of the team that teaches that child. Each week, volunteers do everything from greeting families to teaching and leading kids in worship.

How can I volunteer in Cove Kids?
There are many positions available where you can serve. These include greeting families, nursery/toddler caregiver, teacher, adult helper, small group leader, worship leader, stage host, storyteller, puppeteers and many more opportunities. For more information on how you can be involved, call us at 704-655-3000 or email us.

Do you provide assistance for children with special needs?
Yes. Your child can be a part of the Team Access ministry. In this ministry, we partner your child with their own trained volunteer and, as a team they will go into the developmentally appropriate room. For more information, or to get involved, please call 704-655-3000 or email us.
