THIS SUMMER, THE COVE IS GOING BANANAS again!

 

It's going to be a fun, exciting, crazy summer full of reaching out to make a difference for kids and families in our area. As a church, we'll be building relationships and providing daily lunches throughout the summer for kids who might not otherwise have enough to eat. 

 

THE RUN DOWN

Many kids in our area's public schools receive free or reduced lunch. When school is out, finding enough for lunch can be an issue for kids. This summer we're "going bananas" again to help provide lunch and build relationships! But, we have the opportunity to provide more than just food for kids. We believe that this is an opportunity to create friendships, build relationships and introduce kids to Jesus.

 

It’s going to be a great 10 weeks of Go Bananas, so join us as we pack and serve food, play games in the park, teach activities and crafts, and share the love of Jesus with our community!

 

 

BE A PART OF A GO BANANAS TEAM

 

 

 

Make and pack 5 lunches once a week, for 10 weeks, and deliver your lunches to a collection site near you. Pick up a starter kit in the atrium during any weekend service, or use the the menus and instructions provided below. 

 

DAILY MENUS, PACKING & DELIVERY INSTRUCTIONS

 

 

 

Help collect the packed lunches at campus collection locations. Collection will occur the night and morning prior to each on-site serving day. All sandwiches need to be placed in a refrigerator when received.

 

SIGN UP FOR A LUNCH COLLECTION TEAM

 

 

 

Be a part of the onsite lunch teams, and sign up to serve on the day of the week, role, and time that works best for you:

 

• Set up: Help get the site ready for the day, and meet the delivery driver to unload lunches.

 

• Make a Friend: Life change happens through relationships. Meet new people, engage in conversation, make friends with parents and kids, and have fun!

 

• Teach: We want to provide more than just food. We'll be introducing and celebrating Jesus, as we bring the message of hope through activities, lessons, and crafts.

 

• Spanish Translator: Connect people together through your language skills.

 

• Breakdown: Help make sure items are clean and accounted for, and load the truck at the end of activities.

WHERE WE'LL BE BRINGING THE FUN (AND THE FOOD)

 

We'll be serving lunch on site 3 days a week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday) at 5 locations this summer. Kids will get a chance to take home lunch to enjoy the next day, for the days that we're not on site.
