New to Cove Kids: What to Expect

 

Arriving at Cove Kids
When you arrive at Cove Kids, a welcoming leader will greet you and help you sign-in your child. For first time families, a leader will help you register you and your child into our system. Your child will be given a name tag for personal identification. The adult checking your child into the classroom will also be given an identification label that is necessary to release the child at the end of the service. Your tag will need to be presented at your child’s classroom at the time of pick-up. An adult must check-in and check-out your child.

 

Nursery - Infants through Two-Year-Olds
Our Nursery Program is divided into five age catergories:

 

Infants - (6 weeks-6 months) is a loving and peaceful environment designed to care for and nurture children.
 

Crawlers - (6 months-12 months) is a loving and peaceful environment designed to care for and nurture children.

 

Walkers - (12 months-18months) Your children will enjoy age-appropriate toys and preschool style classrooms as they spend time playing games, singing songs and hearing stories. Snacks (Cheerios and/or Goldfish) will be provided. Please inform your child’s teacher if your child has a food allergy.

 

Runners - (18 months-24 months) Your children will enjoy age-appropriate toys and preschool-style classrooms as they spend time playing games, singing songs and hearing stories. Snacks (Cheerios and/or Goldfish) will be provided. Please inform your child’s teacher if your child has a food allergy.

 

Twos - is small group driven, children will learn the Bible story through crafts, games, and application activities. They will then travel to large group for worship and Bible story teaching with puppets, Bible verse, and prayer time. Snacks will be provided for your child. Please inform your child’s teacher if your child has a food allergy.

 

As you know, it is not unusual for little ones to cry when leaving a parent. This usually does not last long and separation will become easier over time. Our caring leaders will immediately try to soothe your child while assuring them that you will return soon. If your child cries for an extended period of 10 minutes, we will contact you via a visual prompt on the side screens in the main auditorium.

 

What To Bring For Your Child
When packing a diaper bag for your child, please include the following items:
1. Two or three diapers.
2. Pacifier or any other item(s) your child needs to feel secure.
3. A complete change of clothes.
4. A bottle of milk, formula, juice or water.

 

Please label all personal items with your child's first and last name before arriving at your child's class.

 

Preschool - Three-Year-Olds through Five-Year-Olds

Your Child's Health
We operate a well-child program. For the protection of all the children in our ministry, we cannot accept a child with a runny nose, fresh cold (four days or less), fever, rash, persistent cough, diarrhea or any other signs of illness. We request that you not place your child in the program while they are at risk of exposing other children. Thank you in advance for helping us to keep our Cove Kids program a healthy place for kids.

 

Grade School - Kindergarten through Fifth Grade
Cove Kids is the grade school ministry of The Cove Church for children kindergarten through 5th grade. We strive to provide a Christ-centered environment where every child feels valued and loved by Jesus. Our goal is to assist families in teaching Godly principles and instilling the love of Christ (Proverbs 22:6).

 

Children have a very special place at the Cove Church. Cove Kids is built on a solid foundation, the cornerstone of our ministry being Christ-centered relationships between kids, Cove staff and parents. These relationships provide the ways in which the children experience love, and gain a better understanding of God’s love in very practical ways.

 

Cove Kids is an awesome place to be! Starting in a small group setting, with teachers and friends they know, they will get connected and learn to follow after Jesus. They will enjoy small group time and lesson specific crafts. In a dynamic large group setting, kids come together to worship and sing in high-energy fashion, play crazy games, and watch animated stories of the Bible which they can apply to their daily lives.

 

For small group, students in kindergarten through 2nd grade meet in Auditorium 3 and students in 3rd through 5th grade meet in Auditorium 2. After coming together for large group, they return to their small group settings for wrap-up and sharing. As always, your children's safety is our top priority and our Cove security team follows the same safety check-in/out procedures as our Preschool Cove Kids department.
